Tektro Dorado HD-E710 offers the ultimate in stopping power for electric bikes. The HD-E710 is specially designed for the higher speeds and increased weight of electric bicycles. The standard rotors of bicycles are 1.8 mm thick, but Tektro's rotors are beefed up to a 2.3 mm thickness to handle the extra stress and dissipate heat. Brake levers have EU approved ball ends and a sight level gauge that shows fluid level. Built in Reed switches dis-engage the motor's power when brakes are applied. Massive 203 mm rotors (also available in 180 mm) provide necessary caliper clearance for many hub motors and ultimate stopping power. Hydraulic disc brakes are self-adjusting and easier to maintain compared to other bicycle brake types. The HD-E710 pads are also larger and more durable than standard bicycle disc brake pads and last much longer. Length of hydraulic cable is 800mm. Please note: USA standard, right lever is rear, left lever is front.
The Dorado is equipped with a two wire Reed switch. It can be adapted to work with the Bafang BBS02 BBSHD mid drive motor electric bike kit by adding a water proof connector sold separately. If you would like the connector installed, you can select yes add connector, otherwise it will come with bare wires. The connector is seen in the image below.
Hint: Post mount means the adaptor bolts onto "posts" that stick up on the frame/fork and the post is threaded. They can be used in both front and rear. IS mount means the adaptor goes "In Side" of the mounts of the frame/fork and it is not threaded, the bolt goes through the IS mount and threads into the adaptor. They can also be on the front or rear. Please see images below of Post and IS mounts. Compare your bike to the images to see which mounts you have.
Available in 180mm, just add note to order if you prefer 180mm rotors
*Note* Some bicycle manufacturers have changed their mount standard. If you have a direct bolt on caliper with no adapter and a 180mm rotor, you will need to order a 203mm rotor and a 180mm mount. As always, send in a picture so we can make sure to get what you need.
